The Truth is the Power of God is in you!

The Eye of God

The Eye of God

No, I haven’t all of a sudden become a religious fanatic overnight, and begun preaching the lord’s words to his wayward followers.  In fact, I do not belong to any organised religion or follow any particular faith at all, but I do believe one can live religiously and can empower oneself to believe that they are God themselves so to achieve things in life that they could not have done otherwise.

According to the iconoclastic German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, “God is Dead”, which was meant to signify an end to a belief in a false god created by man himself.  Before you religious people out there start wagging the finger, I’m not here to argue the merits/demerits of your faith or to debate if a god actually exists.  I’m only here to express my opinion on what “God” psychologically can do towards motivating people to find their true purpose and to becoming autonomous productive beings.  In other words, if one can say “I am God” spiritually, something which connects all of us into one consciousness, then this can provide a positive outlook in regard having the power to create a life worth living.

So here’s where the following question comes to the fore:  What is “Truth”?  In my mind, “Truth” and “God” are synonymous with one another, and as such cannot be separated when mentioned in the same sentence.  So therefore, “I am Truth”, this omnipotent thing that rules our lives behind a veil of vagueness very much like “God”.

“Television is Dead!” According to a Former TV Addict

July 27th, 2009 2 comments

Do you park yourself in front of the TV for hours on end when feeling bored?

Do you get withdrawal symptoms if you dare to miss an episode of Pop Idol or your favourite soap?

Do you watch TV even when on an exotic holiday in the Caribbean?

If you can answer yes to any of the above questions then it’s time for you to turn off the TV, stop being entertained (euphemism for being ‘distracted’) and seriously think about what constructive things you could do with your time.

I’m sure we’ve all been guilty of watching the odd soap and sports programs (which indeed program the brain into becoming lazy and addicted) to fill in the time, so why not get off the bad diet of junk TV and instead nourish the mind with the healthy food of self-knowledge.

Manly Hall’s Prescient Thoughts on Today’s Human Problems

Planet Earth

I came across an interesting quote on the net today that provoked me to share it with the rest of you:

“… the great materialistic progress which we have venerated for so long is on the verge of bankruptcy. We can no longer believe that we are born into this world to accumulate wealth and abandon ourselves to mortal pleasures. We see the dangers and realize that we have been exploited for centuries. We were told the twentieth century was the most progressive that the world has ever known, but unfortunately the progression was in the direction of self-destruction.

To avoid a future of war, crime, and bankruptcy, the individual must begin to plan his own destiny, and the best source for the necessary information comes down to us through the writings of the ancients. The greatest knowledge of all time should be available … in a book that would be a monument, not merely a coffin.”

~ Manly P. Hall in the preface to the diamond jubilee edition of The Secret Teachings of All Ages

Jiddu Krishnamurti: A Wholly Different Way of Living

July 24th, 2009 No comments

Yes I know, more Krishnamurti.

You may be right in thinking that I have only gone and created a blog site just for Jiddu Krishnamurti considering recent posts that have mostly featured him, but the reason for me starting with him is because I wish you to start with yourself in regards understanding your own mind and emotions.

As intimated by Krishnamurti in the past, we all must have inward change before there can be any change for the better on the outside.  So this is the main reason for my somewhat bias beginnings to my writings.

For us to be able to live a more wise, intelligent and productive life we must begin with liberating our minds and thus transform our attitudes towards each other.  So what better way to start this blog than for Krishnamurti to point the way for us to take the important initial steps towards learning about ourselves.

Krishnamurti’s Art of Teaching Without Teaching

Krishnamurti-bruce

A prominent scene in the Bruce Lee film ‘Enter the Dragon’ comes to mind when describing the late enigmatic, spiritual philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti.  The scene in question involved a cocky and brash martial arts expert who challenges Bruce Lee to a fight on a junk boat.  Instead of Bruce taking the bait and letting either machismo or an apparent insult on his honour trigger him into conflict, he instead demonstrated the ‘art of fighting without fighting’, which defeated his opponent whilst at the same time avoiding physical combat.  In other words Bruce beat him peacefully with his mind without resorting to actual violence.  Krishnamurti’s philosophy on the art of teaching is in some ways comparable to the wisdom Bruce Lee used in that scene.

Krishnamurti was a man who had tremendous compassion, intelligence and insight into the huge problems that human beings face in their daily lives.  As observed by Krishnamurti, these very same problems are caused by our minds being imprisoned by generation upon generation of conditioning.   This conditioning has caused psychological divisions that can lead to violent conflict outwardly, and worse still, serious consequences for the planet in general.

Let the Lessons of Life Begin!

Welcome to Knowledge Reform.com!

This will be my first post on my first ever blog in cyberspace so please be gentle… ;-)

I have to admit I do feel a little apprehensive about sharing my thoughts about life to whoever is interested to read them.  My main priority to begin with was to create an objective website that would serve as a central resource of enlightening knowledge that I felt would enhance people’s minds and change their outlook on life.  I have read more books than what’s contained in a small library, listened to countless audio lectures and watched many a documentary which has all somewhat contributed to helping me understand myself and the world.  I thought to myself, “Why don’t I combine the website idea with a blog so that I can share this beneficial knowledge with everyone else” – so here I am!
