Glad to have you back, Patrick!

I think most people would agree with us regarding a simple life, but in this modern life of technology and communication which can befuddle our minds there seems no way out of the present climate of complexities.

One must learn to separate themselves from conforming to external influences to join the masses who are in a confused state.

Liberate yourself and you will taste simplicity!

Hi Jason,

It took me a while before I finally could read this post and I must agree whe both had this idea at the same time. Consciousness works in a funny way. Let me warn you of my new post: http://patrickschriel.com/2009/11/15/living-a-simple-life-is-living-a-stress-free-life/

Thank you, my dear Fatima!

Yes, keep your room as well as your mind clutter free, but in our cases Fatima, it's very hard to keep a room empty when you have kids - "Toys toys everywhere, which hurt my feet wherever I step and bound!"

@Oscar
Thanks, my friend! I had a look at your blog and we do share same way of thinking in regards productivity and self-improvement. We all need to learn to look at things in more simple terms, which would give us less stress and more creativity.

@Adam
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I feel we can all learn from one another, making a better experience for all who visit our blogs.

@Socrates
Thanks once again, my wise friend. I am always trying to follow your example of being simple and frugal in everything I do...I may even get me one of those threadbare cloaks which you wear throughout every season...and only one of them for all that.

This is a fantastic post, full of great tips. Simplicity is such a simple (no pun intended!) concept, yet it seems to be very difficult for many people to grasp.

Thanks for making it easier...

I like your view of simplicity. I often talk about productivity and goals, but I always remind myself that less is more and that I should focus on creating more by doing less. Great post Jason!

Thanks guys!

Maybe it's in our nature to complicate our lives, but as I grow older and move ever closer to the grave, I'm starting to learn to shed all my pretensions in regard knowledge and material possessions.

Anyway, I don't think they make coffins as big as a 3 bedroom house in this day and age - So I will be forced to leave everything here.

Great article, Jason. Simplicity has been and is my life's passion. "Diogenes threw away his cup when he saw a child drink from the fountain with her hands." I've always loved that quote, it means so much to me. It's this obsession with knowledge, with being clever and smart, and also of course the delusion that acquisition will make us happy.
