@Ryhen
Yep, Ryhen, I took the "red pill" long ago and I've still haven't reached the bottom of the hole yet - glad to know that I some have company to share my descent into awakening.

Ever since an early age I have always questioned conventional opinion - I think some people are just born with the insight to see through the crap we are indoctrinated with.

But we all have the capability to wipe the slate clean in our minds and start afresh by putting the pieces together for OURSELVES...no other human being or man-made system can lead you to truth and happiness.

So I start with myself in my quest, my friend.

@NP
Thanks for the comment, fellow seeker of wisdom. I don't have to tell you again how much I think self-knowledge is the key for us to live wisely. It's a pity that this particular knowledge is hidden from the masses...obviously done by purpose by those who hold the tools of propaganda (state education and religion) to avoid creating philosophers who they would not be able to control by any means.

The philosopher (Socrates for example) would have the capability to overthrow the state by liberating/corrupting the rest of us with their wisdom.

Take care, my friend.

Jason-I like how you keep emphasizing the importance of self-knowledge rather than what most people think of as knowledge: inert facts. A lot of so-called education is just brainwashing, filling one's head with crap. I think the best education is to study yourself, to learn from your own experience. I just came across two quotes from Kabir which I liked a lot: "I do not study the scriptures; I simply see what I see." And: "If you have not live lived through something, it is not true." That would be my definition, too: Truth is what you live through.

Take care, dear friend.

Hi Jason. Wow, this is definitely a lengthy one. Nonetheless, I'm happy to find out that we're on the same both. Well, at least that's what I think. I can honestly say that there are times when I feel there's just something wrong with the way our world works, but maybe that's also part of the plan... whatever plan that may be. haha. I definitely agree when you said, "But to be frank with you, we don’t know a goddamn thing – especially of ourselves." Yup, that's certainly socratic wisdom right there. Most of us are just too sure about most of the things we see and hear around us, but, in fact, we know nothing at all. Robert Anton Wilson once said, "If you think you know what's going on with the world, you're probably full of sh*t."

Great post!

Peace and respect,
Ryhen
