Are kids taught lies just for them to fit into the system?
In writing this post, the Pink Floyd song “Another Brick in the Wall” comes to mind when listening to the lyrics and analysing the meaning behind them in regards what we are taught in school.
Let’s now take a look at some of these lyrics shall we?
We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.
“Wrong, Do it again!”
“If you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any pudding. How can you
have any pudding if you don’t eat yer meat?”
“You! Yes, you behind the bike sheds, stand still laddy!”
~ “Another Brick in the Wall” from the 1979 album “The Wall”
The lyrics above should encourage us all to ask the following questions:
- Do teachers, and the Educational System in particular, actually teach us any truth, especially in regards history and the so-called facts of life?
- Why don’t they have the integrity to teach us truth, critical thinking skills and the art of living wisely, rather than irrelevant information that only serves to dumb us down?
- Is there indeed a hidden conspiracy perpetrated by those in power to use the educational system as a tool of propaganda, so to serve their eventual goal of total mind-control over the masses? Read more…

The Thinker contemplates life's pertinent questions
Let me now introduce you to the first of six posts featuring a series of documentaries written and presented by popular British philosopher Alain de Botton.
This 6 part series is an entertaining, practical and psychobabble-free self-help course for the philosophically minded.
Here, de Botton, brings us six thinkers who have influenced history, and their ideas about the pursuit of the happy life. Here we have then:
- Socrates
- Epicurus
- Seneca
- Michel de Montaigne
- Arthur Schopenhauer
- Friedrich Nietzsche

This particular post is dedicated to my good friend, Mr Blobby, who is a fellow Truth-Seeker.
We are both on a Mission Impossible to avoid being distracted by the very tools of propaganda wielded by those in power, and to relieve our conditioned minds so that it has the freedom to perceive the truth which has been conveniently obscured from our view up to now.
So why don’t you join us?
Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to:
- turn off the TV and radio
- dispose of the newspapers
- question everything you have been told and taught to be true
- inquire for yourself to discern what the truth may be – in other words, educate yourselves
- Seek and gain the practical and beneficial knowledge that can actually help you to become conscious beings, self-reliant, self-determined, pragmatic and wise
- Look within yourselves for the true answers towards achieving your aims in life – the truth and wisdom is within you to use to your advantage
- Take responsibility for your own health, income, and general well-being
This illusory existence that has been conditioned into all our minds must be dealt with by us making an effort to destroy these false images which are destroying us – so emancipate yourselves and see what is.
Once we can see, there then maybe a realistic possibility that we can make this world a paradise that it’s capable of becoming – and that’s no frivolous statement that I’m making here…it can be done…it will be done.
This message will self-destruct in five seconds…

This is a continuation of the “A Philosopher As Parent” and the last in the series. The first post in the series can be found here.

Learn About Yourself whilst Adapting to Parental Life
I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that bringing up children is not an easy task and is perhaps the greatest challenge anyone can take on in life. Anyone looking to start a family will find that out soon enough -believe me!
For me personally, I am finding out the hard way (due to my ignorance of not being a parent before) that I must learn (quickly) to adapt to every given situation in regard my relationship with my 18 month old boy. I have to also admit there are times when many apparent difficulties arise when he seemingly changes his behaviour and attitude from one day to the next. Read more…
