Hi Sentkhim,

Great to know that there are people out there today who are still learning from past ancient philosophers such as Socrates - and you are quite correct in stating that one must find their own TRUTHS.

Thanks for the comment.

Indeed, Socrates didn't teach us about the TRUTH but he introduces us the way to acquire it. He was a man who lived his ideals until his death.

Hi TB and NP,

Yes, Socrates can teach us many a wise lesson towards examining ourselves and our lives.

We now stand on the dark path of ignorance, so let us use Socrates' divine Oracle to illuminate the way towards knowing ourselves.

Once a person decides to think for himself, to use his own eyes and ears, instead of relying on convention and books, a whole new world of wonder opens up to him. We owe this legacy to a few stalwart figures from the past, and certainly Socrates is on the top of the list.

It is lovely to read about Socrates and his wisdom and if all that is said of him is true, how I wish I'd been one of the people who'd hung out with him! That said, there are wise people among us today but, like Socrates, I think that our own wisdom is revealed when we are prepared to conduct an honest inquiry into our own minds.
