There have been many inventors who we are very familiar with and are much celebrated.  Inventors such as, Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison and Alexander Bell have become household names because of the usefulness of their inventions.

But there has been next to no recognition for the black inventors (Yes, they invented things too), some of which produced the most important inventions in human history.

This post will attempt to redress the balance as I present to you 10 of the greatest black inventors that you’ve probably never heard of before now.

Throughout history, African Americans have invented some important and fun devices. Read about ten examples of men and women and see what they invented.Think about what kind of obstacles they may have faced, personally and professionally.

    Yes NP, good to find out where these wonderful inventions originate from, no matter what the race or culture the inventor belong to.

    A huge reform is needed in terms of the decimation of knowledge/info in regards the positiveness and beneficial qualities of all cultures – that is where I fit in.
