Review: A Wisdom Bible for the Ages

To give you more of an idea of who the self-published author of the Wisdom Bible is, I have previously felt the need to write about Sanderson Beck, his literary works and his non-violent activism on this blog.

The actual post can be read in Unknown Bearers of True Knowledge and Wisdom Sanderson Beck

Continuing my review of Beck’s magnum opus, his mission through this book, is to impart spirituality, wisdom and beneficial knowledge to the world, so that people can apply the lessons taught so to live a more peaceful and wiser life.

I think Beck is well on his way to realising that in this anthology of ancient wisdom, which is derived from the many different cultures on earth. This most useful collection introduces the reader to the teachings of the past sages who, at the time, pursued the art of living a virtuous and spiritual life.

These virtues, I feel, are unfortunately missing in today’s most ignorant, misguided and materialistic of worlds.

It includes classic material sourced from ancient China, India, Greece, the Middle East and Rome – all with very fine translations.

Beck’s inclusion of these translated works into one book makes it a rather convenient place to read, perhaps, the greatest wisdom teachings of all ages.

The book includes the sayings and teachings of, historically, some of the greatest men of wisdom as well as being tireless servants of humanity. These are:

  • Lao Zi
  • Confucius
  • Buddha
  • Socrates
  • Plato
  • Solomon
  • Epicurus
  • Epictetus
  • Boethius
  • Jesus
  • Muhammad

I have no doubt that if this bible of wisdom could be successfully promoted and distributed throughout libraries and schools we may see a positive change in people’s attitudes towards themselves, each other and the environment in which they live.

What could be better than a planet establishing itself on the path of wisdom, peace, love and, ultimately, heavenly paradise?

In conclusion, this book goes a long way towards enlightening the mind of whomever chooses to read this collection of forgotten, but most pertinent, of teachings.

My advice: buy this, adopt it as your lifetime bible and leave it on your bedside table for future reference when you are in need of spiritual enlightenment and inspirational wisdom.
