Enlightening Documentaries: Hidden Wisdom – The History of Hermeticism

These beliefs have heavily influenced the Western esoteric tradition and were considered greatly important during both the Renaissance and the Reformation.

The following short video presents a history of secret Western esoteric path of Hermeticism narrated by Christopher Warnock of the website Renaissance Astrology.

It is believed by some, that Hermes Trismegistus and Jesus Christ were the same entity. An entity not of this world.

    Thank you for sharing :)

Interesting. I never knew Hermes to be linked with Jesus in any way but I won’t dismiss what you said.

As far as I know, the thrice greatest was suppose to be a contemporary of Moses, although he more than likely never existed (like most of these allegorical/mythological characters that Man chooses to treat literally) as he was thought of as a God of wisdom and knowledge both in ancient Greece (Hermes) and Egypt (Thoth).

The writings (The Hermetica and Emerald Tablet of Hermes) were only attributed to Hermes/Thoth which probably means that some old hermit with nothing better to do actually wrote them instead.

“A godlike legendary man wrote down all the world’s wisdom” definately sounds better than “An eccentric old codger with time on his hands…” lol

I believe there is more truth in your humour, than most of the rhetoric that is offered by historical experts on this subject!

Man is either busy doing or he is busy thinking. He cannot be busy doing both at the same time :)
