Here is what the Wikipedia synopsis of The Secret reveals,

‘The Secret, described as a self-help film, uses a documentary format to present the Law of Attraction. As described in the film, the “Law of Attraction” principle posits that feelings and thoughts can attract events, from the workings of the cosmos to interactions among individuals in their physical, emotional, and professional affairs. The film also suggests that there has been a strong tendency by those in positions of power to keep this central principle hidden from the public.’

Will’s Words of Wisdom

I never thought I could learn any sort of wisdom from an actor such as Will Smith, but he surprisingly seems to be a man who excels in positive thinking and also possesses a steely determination to succeed in life.

I always assumed that celebrities usually spent their spare time getting drunk at parties and attending to their looks every second of the day…how wrong was I.

Alain de Botton: A Kinder, Gentler Philosophy of Success

September 7th, 2009 Jason Cooper No comments

Can one be happy and anxiety free in a world filled with nothing but social pressures, stress and troubles?  Well Swiss writer, Alain de Botton thinks we can, with some practical wisdom in the following talk as he discusses the pressures and anxieties within the workplace as well as in our lives in general.

To be honest with you, I’d much rather stay home and become a full-time Football Coach to baby J who is becoming ever more ambitious by the day – but alas, I got to pay the bills!

Alain does a good job in giving me some much needed consolation through the use of philosophy despite me needing to work within a environment with human beings hell bent on backstabbing and ass kissing just to get to the top.  Enjoy and learn from Mr. de Botton…

“Alain de Botton examines our ideas of success and failure — and questions the assumptions underlying these two judgments. Is success always earned? Is failure? He makes an eloquent, witty case to move beyond snobbery to find true pleasure in our work.”
